April 19th – 21st Pigeon Forge will host the Rod Run 2018. This show draws crowds and enthusiasts from all over the region. Traffic is always a problem during these types of events so traveling early and leaving late will generally get you around town fairly quick. If your stuck in the traffic at least there are tons of awesome cars to gawk at!

All trails are open and the base is at 35-40″ at Ober Gatlinburg this year. Far cry from last year. Snow tubing has been very popular this year and has been sold out until January 8th 2018. If you are coming to the Smokies and plan on tubing make sure you get your tickets online here:
Lazy Bear Cabin near Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge will be decorating at the end of November to coincide with Winterfest! Winterfest in Gatlinburg kicked off tonight, November 8th with a Chili Cookoff. The beautiful lights will run 24 hours a day until February 28th 2018.

Dollywood’s Harvest Festival begins September 29th and last through October 28th in the Smokies! There are going to be thousands of carved and illuminated jack-o-lanterns to view. August 16th through the 20th, Gatlinburg holds the Songwriters Festival. Live musical entertainment in downtown Gatlinburg. There are only 3 ticketed concerts, all the others are free. We were there last year and sat on Bubba Gumps deck, ate shrimp and listened to the singing from across the street. Great week to vacation in the Smokies. From June 17th – August 12th take advantage of the free open air trolley located in Gatlinburg. The hours of the trolley are 10am – 10:30pm. All of the Gatlinburg trolleys are handicap accessible. You can also purchase an all day pass for all the trolleys for $2 and hit all the routes they provide.
On Friday June 9th Gatlinburg will start its 12th annual Gatlinburg Tunes & Tales on a daily basis until July 29th. At 6pm every night the center of town turns into a mini concert and storytelling. Great event for the whole family. Gatlinburg is a great place to park, grab a bite to eat and walk the strip enjoying the music!
